009: March Wrap Up & April Hopefuls
I can’t believe we are already one-quarter through the year.
Last week, I celebrated that Spring had arrived. So naturally, I must acknowledge that my allergies are back in action. 🤧 I naively spent the early part of the week confused about my sniffles and puffy eyes, until I remembered that pollen was abundant once again.
March Wrap Up
My favorite book of the month would have to be Carry On. For such a short book, it was truly profound. Global was also a great read. I hope to pick up other graphic novels by Eoin Colfer soon. I also enjoyed An Ember in the Ashes, and I’m glad I finished it along with Dear Martin.
April TBR
In April, I’d like to read (or at least start):
Little Thieves by Margaret Owen
I am Alfonso Jones by Tony Medina
What the Dead Know by Nghi Vo
The Six Deaths of the Saint by Alix E. Harrow
Into the Riverlands by Nghi Vo
My Sister, the Serial Killer by Okinkan Braithwaite
This week I finally finished An Ember in the Ashes. In all honesty, I was beginning to forget some of the characters which is really bad. They would come back, and it would take me a few pages to realize if and why they were relevant to the story. The only thing is that it ended on a cliffhanger, and I won’t be picking up the next books for a while because of my reading plans for the year. 😕
I also started a poetry collection called And We Rise, but I am not that far into it yet.
Until next week’s update 👋🏾
